On November 24, 2023, Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić held a meeting with members of the top leadership of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro.
At the meeting, continuous and authentic social dialogue was highlighted as a prerequisite for successfully implementing reform policies and overcoming all the challenges facing Montenegro, emphasizing the acceleration of Montenegro’s European integration process. In this regard, it was concluded that social dialogue had no alternative and that the 44th Government of Montenegro remains open to dialogue with the stated intention of improving the work of the Social Council.
The Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro presented to the Prime Minister and his associates the Platform that UFTUM would advocate for before the 44th Government of Montenegro, adopted at the 17th session of the UFTUM Executive Committee on October 9, 2023, as well as six resolutions adopted at the IV UFTUM Congress, the implementation of which the UFTUM leadership committed itself to the Prime Minister and his associates. The UFTUM representatives expressed the expectation that the Prime Minister would familiarize himself with the initiatives highlighted in the Platform and that, together with the relevant ministries, he would support their implementation.
The meeting was attended on behalf of the Government of Montenegro, in addition to the President, by the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Naida Nisic, and the Chief of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet, Branko Krvavac, with their associates, while on behalf of the UFTUM, Secretary General Srđa Keković, Deputy Secretary General Željko Burić, Ivana Mihajlović and Radomir Božović and Executive Committee member Nebojša Radonjića attended the meeting.
