The Assembly of the Youth Section of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro (UFTUM) was held today in Podgorica. At the assembly, the leadership of the UFTUM Youth Section was elected: the coordinator and the six-member Coordination Committee. As the coordinator of the Section, Lidija Mijović was unanimously elected from the Trade Union of Civil Servants and State Employees of Montenegro, while the following members of the Coordination Committee were elected: Aljoša Turović (Trade Union of Media of Montenegro), Jovana Vukadinović (Trade Union of University of Montenegro), Nina Cvijović (Trade Union of Education of Montenegro), Marija Marković (Union of Defense and Army of Montenegro), Aleksandra Petričević (Trade Union of Transport of Montenegro) and Mina Radović (Trade Union of Civil Servants and State Employees of Montenegro).
The delegates of the Electoral Assembly gave the newly elected leadership a mandate of ten months with the task to gather young people in the Section during that period, to instigate all the branch unions that operate within the UFTUM to nominate members and with the task of organizing a new Assembly by the end of ten months at the latest, when a new leadership will be elected with full mandate.
The activities of the Youth Section shall focus on organization and information of youth – union members in order to undertake measures and activities aimed at protecting and improving the socio-economic position of young people on the labor market, and affirming the program tasks and goals of the UFTUM. The delegates of the Electoral Assembly expressed their agreement that the priority in their future actions will be especially on participation in the implementation of UFTUM congressional resolutions, with a focus on the Resolution on the necessity of housing policy reform. According to the Statute, the coordinator of the UFTUM Youth Section automatically becomes a member of the Main Committee of the UFTUM with the right to vote.
