Secretary General of the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro (UFTUM), Srdja Kekovic and President of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Albania (BSPSH), Gezim Kalaja, signed in Podgorica today the Agreement on Cooperation for the period 2019-2023.
By signing the Agreement, two trade unions accepted to, recognizing the independence and equal rights of unions of Montenegro and Albania, along with the mutual respect of the goals, tasks and principles of action set forth in their statutes and programs, work on strengthening the trade union movement through the following: exchange of knowledge and experience related to issues of importance for employees and citizens; union organizing, negotiations, occupational health and safety, free movement of workers; education and training of trade union representatives; cooperation on projects; solidarity and help within their capabilities; improvement of legal regulations in the field of labour relations; organisation of recreation for union members and their families; etc.
The main goal of cooperation is to provide economic, social and legal living and working conditions of trade union membership, their legitimate rights and interests by the UFTUM and BSPSH’s joint efforts and coordination of activities.
On behalf of the UFTUM, besides the Secretary General, the signing of the Agreement was attended by Zvonko Pavicevic, Deputy Secretary General, Asllan Zeneli, TU representative for Ulcinj, Ivana Mihajlovic, Legal Adviser and Jelena Mitrovic, Social Policy Adviser. Apart from the BSPSH President, the signing was attended by Arjola Alika, President of the Albanian Public Trade Unions as well as Koli Sinjari and Erina Buzi, representatives of the BiznesAlbania.
