The Law on Amendments to the Labor Law adopted today

After the text of the amended Labor Law did not receive the necessary signature of the President of Montenegro to enter into force, today again it was a point on the Agenda of the Parliament of Montenegro, and with its adoption, it took the form of the Law on Amendments to the Labor Law.

Namely, due to the impossibility to conclude a new General Collective Agreement by 31 Dec 2020, as it was prescribed by the Labor Law, due to extraordinary circumstances caused by the new coronavirus pandemic, by the Proposal to amend this law it was requested an extension of the deadline for the adoption of a new GCA until 31 Dec 2021.

By adopting the Proposal on Amendments to the Labor Law at today’s Second Extraordinary Session of the Parliament of Montenegro in 2021, the deadline for the adoption of a new General Collective Agreement has been extended until the end of 2021, thus extending the validity of the GCA that was in power until the 7th January this year.
